The class will introduce organizational and systems theory, information systems, procedure analysis, management planning, and management problem solving.
PADM 610 – Organizational Theory and Behavior
This course reviews the evolution of organization theories from the classical models to current discussions of post-modern organizations. The focus is on how managers can use the metaphors and theories of organizations to develop better management in their organizations.
PADM 624 – Human Resources Administration
This is an intensive class format, meeting for three full days on two different months after a short introduction class. The class develops skills in techniques of personnel administration and considers issues of human resources development in public organizations. In addition, it examines recruitment, selection, training, motivation, performance evaluation, and career development.
